Welcome to the Detection Club, the site dedicated to classic British mysteries.

What is the Detection Club? The Detection Club was formed in the 1930s by a group of British mystery writers including such well-known authors as Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers and G. K. Chesterton. The members of the club agreed to adhere to a code of ethics in their writing, so as to give the reader a fair chance at guessing the guilty party.

Although the Detection Club has continued in some form to the present day, this site is devoted to the authors from the club's earlier years. Currently, we feature three of the club's most famous members; more authors will be added in the future.
